Plank's On Broadway is more than just a place to eat—it's a Grove City icon where the smell of grilled steak and sizzling pizza crusts wraps around you the moment you step through the door. Nestled at 4022 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123, this local favorite draws in crowds with its hearty portions, cozy atmosphere, and that unmistakable small-town Ohio charm.
What makes Plank's On Broadway a must-visit in Grove City?
There’s something about Plank's On Broadway that just sticks with you. Maybe it's the exposed brick walls soaked in decades of laughter and stories, or the familiar faces that welcome you like you’ve been coming here for years—even if it’s your first time. Ask anyone in Grove City, and they’ll probably say the same thing: this spot feels like home.
Locals have been gathering here for birthdays, post-game celebrations, or just a Wednesday night with friends over cold beer and loaded nachos. The location couldn’t be more central—right on Broadway, just steps from city events and weekend markets.
The menu? Let’s talk about that. The kitchen serves up hearty American-style classics, from massive burgers and golden fries to creamy pastas and thin-crust pizzas topped just the way you like them. One regular favorite is the Broadway Burger—topped with bacon, melted cheddar, sautéed onions, and their signature garlic aioli. Pair it with a side of crispy onion rings and one of the local draft beers on tap, and you've got yourself a meal worth writing home about.
Dishes that speak louder than words
Plank’s doesn’t try to be fancy. It just does comfort food right. Every item feels intentional, from the gooey cheese pull on a slice of pepperoni pizza to the perfectly seared edges on a medium-rare steak. You don’t come here for fusion experiments—you come here because you know the meal’s going to be solid.
Their pizza menu deserves special mention. Baked on a stone deck oven, the crust is crispy on the outside and soft inside, creating the ideal bite. The Meat Lovers Pizza is a beast—pepperoni, sausage, ham, and bacon, all piled high. Or if you're into something lighter, the Veggie Supreme hits the mark with mushrooms, onions, peppers, olives, and the freshest tomato sauce.
Don’t skip the starters either. Their Buffalo wings strike the balance between spice and tang, and the Loaded Fries come drenched in cheese, bacon bits, and green onions—plus ranch on the side if you're that kind of person.
And desserts? Oh yes. Try the warm brownie sundae if you’ve got room left. It's rich, warm, cold, creamy—all the textures in one glorious dish.
It’s not just the food—it’s the feeling
What separates Plank's On Broadway from your average diner isn’t just the food. It’s the experience. The first time I went, it was a Saturday night. The place was packed, but still, the server made time to chat about their favorite drink on the list and what dishes were customer favorites. That’s not something you get at a chain restaurant.
The staff knows the menu like the back of their hand. They’ll tell you what’s fresh, what the kitchen’s proud of that week, and they’re not afraid to steer you toward what they know you’ll love. That kind of confidence only comes from a team that loves what they do and where they work.
Whether you're tucked into a booth with family or parked at the bar for a solo pint, Plank’s gives off a vibe that's warm, laid-back, and genuinely welcoming. It feels like your local pub, even if you just moved to town last week.
A hub for locals and a surprise for travelers
Located in Franklin County, just outside of Columbus, Ohio, Grove City has grown, but Plank’s remains a nostalgic cornerstone. For travelers passing through or staying in nearby hotels, it’s a taste of local Ohio you can’t get at the airport or your usual fast-food spot.
The interior has that rustic charm—brick walls, wooden beams, and vintage photos lining the walls. It’s got that old-school Americana feel without feeling outdated. You can hear classic rock playing softly in the background, and on Fridays, there’s sometimes live music from local artists. The ambiance fits perfectly for a casual date night, a family outing, or a meet-up with college friends.
Reviewers consistently praise the consistency. On Yelp, one guest mentioned, “Every time I visit from out of state, I make it a point to come here. Food’s always hot, service is always friendly.” That kind of review matters. It's not hype. It’s reliability.
From bar bites to group dinners—there’s a plate for everyone
The beauty of Plank’s lies in its ability to cater to all types of guests. If you're dropping in for happy hour, you’ve got your pick of draft beers, well-mixed cocktails, and budget-friendly appetizers. Planning a dinner with friends? There are combo platters, shareables, and family-sized salads.
Even kids have their own menu, which means this isn’t just a pub scene—it’s a family-friendly spot with crayons on the table and staff who’ll actually engage with your little ones.
And let’s not forget about the portion sizes. They’re generous. You’ll often leave with a takeout box and a plan to have it again for lunch tomorrow.
Community connection that’s hard to replicate
Here’s the thing about restaurants like Plank’s On Broadway—they become more than just restaurants. They become part of the town’s story. Over the years, the place has supported local events, sponsored school fundraisers, and even hosted trivia nights and open mic evenings.
During tough winters or uncertain times, they’ve stayed open, providing locals with hot meals and a sense of normalcy. That commitment has earned them a loyal crowd. Ask the locals and you’ll hear stories of birthday parties celebrated here, first dates that turned into marriages, or just long evenings spent catching up with old friends over cold drinks and crispy mozzarella sticks.
Even their Facebook page is active with daily specials, community shout-outs, and real interactions with customers—not automated posts. That transparency and effort to connect online reinforces the same values you feel when you're dining in: trust, familiarity, and community.
The verdict from someone who’s been more than once
I’ve eaten at dozens of diners across Ohio, but Plank's On Broadway remains on my go-back list. It hits the sweet spot between price, atmosphere, and food quality. And unlike those trendy new spots that focus more on Instagram likes than seasoning, Plank’s keeps it real.
The team behind the counter works hard, the kitchen knows what they’re doing, and the place buzzes with life, especially on weekends. There’s no pretense here—just great food, cold drinks, and a crowd that keeps coming back.
If you’re ever in Grove City, skip the chains and head straight to 4022 Broadway. Grab a burger, order a draft, and soak in that familiar, grounded Midwest comfort. Plank’s On Broadway isn’t just a restaurant. It’s part of the soul of this town.
“ We had a great experience here. We were seated immediately, arrived around 2pm on a Saturday. Our server was quick, efficient, and very nice. The food was reasonably priced with big portions! The wings were not skimpy but could have had some more sauce. Plenty of outdoor seating out front. Bathrooms were tricky to find, men’s and women’s are not near each other, and were not in the best shape. The area is close to many shops and other places to grab a coffee, ice cream, and much more! Walkable with plenty of free parking nearby. There is a projector playing sports, along with other TVs spread around the restaurant. You can ask to change the channel if needed, but I think they usually keep it on the most popular games. ”
Megan Roof“ I loved it here! Rich in history, this place offers fabulous foods at fair prices. Great value. We had salads and the Southwest Pizza. So yummy! We also had a Blue Burger. It was a hit. They have a nice outside space as well as a dining room and great bar area. Don't be in a hurry. It's part of the experience. ”
Cathy Morris“ I was here for a mini Christmas party with Firefighters. The food and atmosphere was great. ”
Anthony Ellis“ Waited with 16 people for over 15 minutes while 2 four place tables needed cleaned! (2 bussers, the matre de and all waitresses ignored the mess!) It was really evident that Billie was not working tonight (Apr 15, 2025). JONATHAN. Billie, where are you??? ”
JonnyBoy Fugetti“ We have been customers here for years . Always great staff, good service. And the MOST reasonable prices in the city ASK for KAYLA All the staff is GREAT ! But she is A Super star!! ”
Jeff Rettinger“ 06/10/2024 You never know which crust you will get at planks. Sometimes it is thin sometimes a little thicker. Tonight's was more airy and crispy bottom. Always delicious! Great steak at Planks. Who would have thought that Planks would be the place for a great steak? I felt like having a steak so, I gave it a try and was very pleasantly surprised! It was as good as any Sirlion I've had anywhere! ”
Jim Weaver“ Historic building that takes you back in time. The burgers are tasty (and BIG) and the baked-off wings are a treat. Get them one level less hot than you normally get. If you normally get "hot," get "medium" baked off wings. ”
Brent Miller (that_brent_miller)“ Pretty good food, good service! Atmosphere was a little overwhelming but it was pretty busy; which I hear is common for this place :) ”
